Nigeria @ 50 October 1, 2010: Aba, Abia State under siege
People on ground think that the kidnapping activities going on in Abia State is politically motivated. A medical doctor was killed yesterday in Aba. A young lady was shot dead at Aba Owerri Road. People are now deserting Aba to their various villages which are not any safer, reminding ndi Igbo of their predicament during the Nigeria-Biafra war. The parpetrators are playing games with lives and security of Abians. The current Gov. T. A. Orji has asked for federal help. Soldiers are now posted to Aba and Umuahia. The check points which were taken down recently are now being reinstated. Meanwhile neighboring cross River State is calm as the Nigeria flag is flying high to celabrate Nigeria @ 50 years. When the elephants fight, the grassroots will suffer. Igbo Basics publications join other Nigerians to rejoice for the release of the 15 kidnapped children in Aba. To toy with our children is to toy with our future.
